HISA's efforts to improve sanitation have been focused in Richmond. Proper sanitation in Richmond is sorely lacking, impacting the health of Richmond's citizens. From washing hands to enhancing community toilet facilities, HISA continues to make sanitation a priority in the face of abject poverty.


  1. Purchasing new pumps, with Rotary support, that operate the sewage system for the entire community.
  2. Refurbishing bathrooms at the high school, Richmond Community Center and St. Matthew's Church.
  3. Installing hand washing stations at the Soup Kitchen.
  4. Maintaining a healthy and trash-free environment at the Richmond Community Center.
